Willa was born March 22, 1934, in Springfield, the daughter of Eunice Bermel.
Willa graduated from Springfield High School and received her bachelor's degree from Illinois College. She retired in December 2004 from the State of Illinois where she was an information technology manager.
She is survived by three sons, Michael (wife, Jennifer) Wallace of Chicago, Dr. Christopher Wallace (wife, Dr. Rosalie Graves) of Albuquerque, NM, and Jeffrey Wallace; and three grandchildren, Henry, Eleanore, and Megan Wallace. Willa is also blessed to be survived by her many friends with whom she shared so many wonderful times and activities.
Cremation will be accorded prior to ceremonies by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Family will receive friends for a memorial gathering from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 687 E. Linton Ave., Springfield, IL 62703.
