Information provided by Myrna Lee (Coffey/Reeves Family Tree):
Floyd Coffey and Helen Reeves were married on August 20, 1910 on Boblo Island. Floyd was a farmer. At one point, they moved to Imlay City. Looking back, Mildred and Donald were born in Imlay City so the move moust have been around 1915. Floyd was either a caretaker on a farm, or he was a tenant farmer. Helen was so homesick for family, they moved back to the Doty Farm in Holly. Again, Helen was homesick; it was still too far from her family. They later moved to the Reeves property in Waterford. Floyd bought his first car in 1919. This means he didn't own a car when they moved to Imlay City. Helen couldn't just drive that short trip to see her family. In the late 30s, we understand Floyd sold Hoover vacuum cleaners. Sometime later he went to work at the Pontiac Golf Course on Elizabeth Lake Road as their caretaker. I believe he was still working at the golf course at the time of his death in 1960.
