Mr. Marshall A. James, 71, died Wednesday (June 22, 2005) at Pinewood Nursing Home in Whigham, (Grady Co) GA following a lengthy illness.
He was a native of Wilcox County but grew up in Waycross and had resided for the past 10 years in Cairo. He was the son of the late Tollie Claude James and Ila Naomi Evans James.
He was retired from Department of Natural Resources in the Game and Fish Law Enforcement Division. He was a member of the Cairo First United Methodist Church, Frank C. Folks # 192 and the Hasan Temple. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
The survivors include his wife, Dorothy "Dot" James of Cairo; three daughters, Marsha J. Reynolds (her partner Alice Andrews) of Hayesville, NC, Donna J. Rodgers (Husband Rusty) of Valdosta, Mary A. James of Jacksonville, FL; a son, Daniel A. James (wife Valerie) of Jasper, FL; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Jonnie James of Waycross, Gladys R. James of Sharpsburg, GA; and loving pets, Beau and Molly.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday (June 25, 2005) at Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Saturday morning from 10 until 11 o'clock.
