They then came to Kansas to live; they came overland in a covered wagon. Indians still lived in the wooded area on Dry Creek which flows through the land they chose for a home. The Indians were friendly and Michel let them stay until they decided to join their own people in Oklahoma.

Pioneer Woman Dead – Mrs. Christine Gravelot, 79 years old, is dead at Neodesha. She was born in France but came to American in her youth and with her husband, who still survives her, came to Wilson County in 1869 and located on the farm where she died.
