There is some confusion as to the identities of the brothers. Alfred is almost 11 1/2 years older than John, so the man on the right looks older. But enlistment records show the older brother's height of 6'1.5" and John's height at 5'6".

Roll of Confederate POWs killed in train collision on July 15, 1864, 1.5 miles north of Shohola, PA along tracks. There are two errors in transcription which shows middle initial as an "N" and Unit/Regiment as "26"
