From the Decatur IL Review, July 6, 1900:

Death of B. A. Burrows
Was a Well Known Farmer of This Section

"B. A. Burrows, a well known Macon county farmer, died at 10:55 p. m. Wednesday, July 4, at his home three miles southeast of Hervey City, aged 66 years. He had been in poor health for the past year, but was seriously ill for only one week before his death. A complication of diseases caused death. Mr. Burrows was born in Ross county, O., and came to this state when quite young. He had been a farmer in this section for many years. He is survived by a wife and nine children. They are: Mrs. A. C. Lockland (actually, Loughlin) of Sidell, Marion B. (actually H.) Burrous of Pipestone, Minn., Mrs. Dollie Tohill of Casner, Mrs. Ella Logan of Pierson, R. O. Burrous of Iowa, Frank Burrous of Mackinaw and Orpha, Lillie and Grace who reside at home.
The funeral will be at Mt. Zion cemetery."

Note: It is unlikely that he was born in Ross Co, Ohio. His first wife, Elizabeth, was born there, however.

Further information is provided by 'My Family History' written by his daughter, Lillian Burrous Nichols: "Bennet Alfred Burrous was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, March 31, 1834. His mother and father passed away before he was 8 years old and he was reared by an older sister."
