LeRoy Edward Lawson, 47, of Knoxville passed away in Knoxville following an extended illness. He was born in Hawkins County, TN, where he lived the majority of his life. LeRoy served with both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lawson; sister, Treva Vaydak; brother Brian Lawson, grandfather, Sturm Lawson; grandmother, Dollie Christian and a niece, Fayth Fink.
Survivors include his mother, Jeanette Christian Lawson of Church Hill; grandmother, Gladys Ilene Lawson of Mt. Carmel; brother, Elvis Lawson of Church Hill, two nieces, Katie Dollar and husband David and Jamie Fink and husband, Rex; two nephews, Roy Lawson and Chad Vaydak, along with several special friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 pm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Carter Trent Funeral Home, 1115 Highway 11W, Church Hill, TN, or anytime at the home of his mother, Jeanette Christian Lawson, 503 Carolina Street, Church Hill.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh.
Military Graveside services will follow at Morning Star Church Cemetery, Church Hill, TN, conducted by the Hawkins County Color Guard and the U.S. Army National Guard. Pallbearers will be the members of the Hawkins County Color Guard.
