near Draketown area. He served in U.S. Navy during WWII on a Minesweeper in the Pacific Theater. Raised in Haralson County, Ga. - married Myrtle Frances White and later moved to Tarrant City, Al. where they adopted a son(Larry Wayne Blackmon)when he was just a few weeks old. He & his family lived in Haralson County,Ga.(owned service station in Buchannan before WWII),lived in Tarrant City & Bessemer Al.,Louisana,& Mississippi. His wife always called him 'Blackie'(short for Blackmon). They were a wonderful couple. Tremendously missed. Loved deeply.
