Age 55 years, s/o William and Jane Thompson Watt - In Memory of James Watt, who died May 9th, 1851, aged 55 years. Born of Christian parents and dedicated to God in infant baptism in helpless infancy, he renewed his dedication when arrived at years of discretion & died in the full hope of a glorious immortality in the communion of the Presbyterian Church. He was a warm hearted Christian, charitable and devoted, public spirited and hospitable. He lived respected & useful & died universally lamented. A bereaved wife & affectionate children have erected this marble to his memory. 'Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord'"
