"Pioneer Man Passes Away At Hospital"
Al Despain, 77-year-old frontiersman, died at a Globe hospital about 1 o'clock yesterday morning, supposedly from complications following influenza.
Funeral arrangements will be made soon. The body is now at the Jones Funeral Home.
Mr. Despain was an early settler hero and was widely known and respected. the deceased owned a ranch at Roosevelt lake at which place he lived until a short time ago.
Mr. Despain is survived by two sons, one living at Payson and the other at Vancouver, Wash. Justice of the Peace Dan R. Williamson is endeavoring to locate the son living at Payson and notify him of the death of his father, while a telegram was sent to the son living at Vancouver.
The deceased had been sick in the local hospital for a time but left recently for Indian Hot Springs in an effort to get well, returning to the hospital Tuesday.
