Miss Elizabeth O. Alexander Dead

We regret to learn of the death of Miss Elizabeth O. Alexander, a maiden lady which occurred at her home at Coneross yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Miss Alexander had been in feeble health for several months. Pneumonia fever was the immediate cause of her death.
Miss Alexander was the eldest daughter of the late James and Frances Alexander. Her father died during the Civil War and her mother died some twenty-four years ago. She joined the Baptist church at Coneross early in life and was a true Christian lady, living daily and hourly the religion she professed. Miss Alexander was a good woman, always ready and willing to help her friends and neighbors in sickness and trouble. She will be greatly missed by her relatives, by her church and by the community at large. She had a wonderful memory and was in a sense an encyclopedia for the community. She could tell the age of almost any of the children in the section, the names of every one buried in the family and church cemetery and when they died. Being the oldest of the family she was always looked upon as a leader and an advisor for the brothers and sisters, grandchildren and other members of the family. The loss of such a woman will be keenly felt.
The following brothers and sisters survive: Messrs. T. D. and W. O. Alexander, of near Westminster; Mr. Marshall L. Alexander, of Ardmore, Okla.; Mrs. Louisa Abbott and Mrs. S. M. Hunsinger, of Coneross. One brother and one sister, James Alexander and Mrs. Harriet Barker, died several years ago.
Interment took place in the cemetery of Coneross Baptist church this afternoon at four o'clock, funeral services being conducted by Rev. L. D. Mitchell. Miss Alexander was 68 years old.
