Son of Benjamin CARPENTER & Amie CARPENTER (not Annie, some records showed Annie but, really it's Amie.). [Benjamin was Lt. Governor of VT 1789-1790. He is called Col. Carpenter in The Official History of Guilford, Vermont, 1768-1961.]
Cyrus' father Benjamin had already moved "west" before heading to Vermont. Thus, Cyrus was born in Killingly, Windham Co., Connecticut (NOT Killingly, Windham Co., Rhode Island). [This info came from my genealogist aunt who got this information from her great uncle who had already had first hand information and done extensive research earlier and shared with her. Folks who are researching the Carpenters need to review recent TAG articles (within the past 10 years) on some errors in the early Carpenter family.]

1) Elizabeth "Betsey" BARNEY on 10 May 1792 in Guilford, Windham Co., VT.
Children from this marriage were:
i. Sarah CARPENTER
ii. Mila S CARPENTER
There are more children - I'm still working in it first.
2) Betsey PUTNAM on 18 Mar 1814. She was the daughter of Archelus PUTNAM and Sarah __. Another name for her was Sally Putnam.

i. Caroline CARPENTER
ii. Edwin Burnham CARPENTER
iii. Gilbert Herman CARPENTER
