"Suttle, Drury D., 2nd Lieutenant

Born in Rutherford County and resided in Cleveland County where he was by occupation a farmer prior to enlisting in Cleveland County at age 24, November 21, 1861. Mustered in as Sergeant. Appointed 2nd Lieutenant on August 2, 1862. Present or accounted for until captured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 3, 1863. Confined at Fort McHenry, Maryland. Transferred to Fort Delaware, Delaware. Transferred to Johnson's Island, Ohio, July 18, 1863. Paroled at Johnson's Island and transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland, on or about March 14, 1865. Received at Cox's Wharf, James River, Virginia, March 22, 1865, for exchange."

I believe Drury D Suttle was the same D. D. Suttle elected Sheriff of Cleveland County, NC, for the term of 1880 - 1882.

At the time of his death in Asheville, Buncombe County,
Mr. Suttle was a real estate agent.
