Miriam Pioneer Called To Reward.

George Shindorf, aged 81 years, for more than a half century a well known and respected farmer of the Miriam district, passed away at his home Friday after several months of illness, caused by old age and other complications.

Mr. Shindorf was born in Ohio and came to this section when he was nine yearsold. On May 6, 1871 he was united in marriage to Miss Lillian Schlitz in theold church at Miriam and to this union eleven children were born, the surviving children being: Frank, Lepold, Mrs. Charles Breimayer, Benjamin, Fred, Leo, Peter, Edward and Louis. Minnie and Sadie two other daughters having died a number of years ago. In addition to the surviving children named above, the aged and infirm wife and mother also survives.

Funeral services were held from St. Mary church Monday morning at nine o’clock, Rev. Fr. Jos. A Maier officiating and burial was made in St. Mary cemetery. The eight stalwart sons of the pioneer citizen bore his body into the church and afterward to its last resting place in the cemetery.

Mr. Shindorf was a man of high character, a true American citizen and a devoted husband and father.
