Funeral services for Earnestine Griffin were held November 12, 2006, at Vaiden Friendship MB Church with Rev. Norman Small officiating. Burial was held at Bennett Chapel Cemetery, Black Hawk with Sanders & Sanders Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Griffin, 89, of Durant, formerly of Vaiden, died November 8, 2006, at University Medical Center in Lexington. She was a homemaker and member of Vaiden Friendship MB Church.
Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Griffin. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Stovall, Juanita Peeples, and Annie Griffin, all of Vaiden, and Bobbie Jean Redmond of West; sons, James Griffm of West, Roosevelt Griffin of Freeport, Ill., George Griffin of Durant, Johnny B. Griffin of Lexington, and Chester Griffin of Vaiden; 26 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
