Steadfastly remaining positive throughout her battle with cancer, Susie savored every moment she spent with her family and friends - never allowing them to leave a visit with her or end a conversation with her in low spirits. The Lord truly created a special person when He created Susie.
Susie is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Charles H. Craig; her daughter, Cynthia Craig Veazey; and her mother, Maurine Slates. Susie is also survived by her four grandchildren, Slates Veazey, Katherine Veazey Soldevila, Suzette Craig, and Charles A. Craig; and by her brother, William "Bebo" Slates. Her son, Bill Craig, preceded her in death three months ago. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jane Hunter.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009 at Senatobia Presbyterian Church, immediately followed by the interment at Bethesda Cemetery in Senatobia.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Senatobia Presbyterian Church.
