Elsie Daisy Moody
Elsie Hartley Moody of Elk Park N.C. passed away from her life on this earth into the loving arms of God on Thursday September 24, 2009.
Elsie was born January 14, 1922 to the late Cleveland Barber Hartley and Rosa Bell Hartley Brewer.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Clarence Moody, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Collis Hartley; two sons, Paul Alvin Moody and Steve Taylor Moody; one daughter Betty Moody; one grandson, Chris Stout; one granddaughter, Sherry Richardson; sisters Edna Brewer and Zona Turbyfill; and a brother, Howard Hartley.
Mrs. Moody is survived by; one daughter, Juanita Shanur of Gardena C.A.; a son, George Barber ‘Bobby" Moody of Elk Park; four grandsons, Bobby Joe Moody of Elk park, Cheyenne Patrick Moody of Elk Park, Steve Moody also of Elk Park, Paul Alvin Moody, Jr. of Roan Mountain; three grand daughters, Cindy Church of Greenville, TN., Emma Moody of Elk Park, and Gina Moody of Lenoir; daughter-in-laws, Mary Moody and Joan Moody; a host of nieces and nephews; dear friends, Shirley and Wayne Lowe, Lois Lunsford and Sharon Perry and Gail Prichard; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Mrs. Moody will be held on Saturday September 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Simpkins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Interment will follow in the Heaton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Kenny Vance, Paul Station, Wayne Lowe, Barnett Harmon, Paul Moody, Jr., Kenneth Brewer and Douglas Lowe.
