W . T. Boyd Buried Tuesday

Funeral services for William T. Boyd, 80, were held from the Church of Christ
here Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock with the pastor of the Colorado City
church officiating. Burial was in the Loraine cemetery.

William T. Boyd Was born in Mississippi May 12, 1887, and came to Texas
at the age of 5. He was married to Lucy Harrison in Bosque County, Texas,
in 1892. They moved to Mitchell County more than 50 years ago and settled
on a ranch south of Colorado City where they lived until Mrs. Boyd died in
1925. Since then he has made his home with his children. At the time of his
death he was living with a son, Willis Boyd, of the Landers community. He
was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Boyd is survived by five children: Jim Boyd of Colorado City, C. L. Boyd
of Colorado City, Mrs. M. D. Cheek of Big Spring, Willis Boyd of Loraine, and
Mrs. Hattie Morton of Abilene. Two brothers and two sisters also survive. His
brothers are M. A. Boyd of Loraine, and Mike Boyd of Wister, Oklahoma. The
sisters are Mrs. Jessie Kirkright of San Angelo, and Mrs. Fannie Ratliff of Shawnee,
Oklahoma.
