LOGAN, UTAH: Anne Holland Cannon passed away peacefully on 14 December 2005 at age 93. Anne was born 19 November 1912 in Bancroft, Idaho to William James Holland and Annie Sarah Thorne.

Anne moved to Salt Lake City after high school where she met her sweetheart and life companion, Melvin C. Cannon. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple 26 August 1937. Anne enjoyed providing service to friends, neighbors and strangers - though they were not strangers for long. She especially enjoyed the many friends she made from Central and South America. Service was the hallmark of her life.

She enjoyed cooking and canning throughout her life and was still making chili sauce, apple sauce and jam at age 91. Anne and Melvin traveled extensively around the world, making friends and learning about the culture and people wherever they have gone.

Anne was an active member of the LDS church and served in many callings in the Sunday School and Primary, and was the informal historian for the Logan 7th Ward for 46 years. Anne took great joy and pride providing a flower arrangement for Sunday services for many years.

Anne and Melvin served an LDS mission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1980-81. She was active in the Logan PTA and also spent considerable time working with the International Student organization at USU. Anne and Melvin also spent many enjoyable years involved with the Cache Geological and Archeological Society (Rock Club) going on expeditions and putting on the annual Gem and Mineral Show.

Anne is survived by her husband Melvin, their four children: Bonnie Vaden, Ogden, Utah; Skip Cannon, Lafayette, Colorado; Marcia (Roger) Leatham, Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles; and Ken (Marty) Cannon, Logan, Utah, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, 19 December 2005 at the Logan 7th Ward, 565 East 100 South, Logan, Utah. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm

Sunday 18 December at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, Utah or Monday 19 December at the 7th Ward from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family online at Allen Mortuaries.
