Marlene Leslie Johnston-Haines, 60, of Cascade,a Western Artist, died of ovarian cancer, Saturday June 28, 2008 at Peace Hospice. Visitation was held on Monday, June 30, at Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory. Her funeral was the following morning at the Croxford Funeral Home, with burial in Sun River Cemetey. A reception of family and friends was then held at the Lewis and Clark Interpretative Center.
Marlene was survived by her children, Shawnda Zahara-Haris (ron) of Colorado, Sharlene Staats (Jody) of Great Falls, Greg haines of Great Falls and Bryan Haines (Tricia) of Nevada. She was also the loving grandmother o Bandon and Shaylin Zindler, Britny and McKenzie Staats, Keeli Harris and Connor Haines. She was also survived by he sister Allayne Ober of Darby as well as her nieces and nephews; Matthew Ober (Deanne), Kitti Hicks (Jim), Mike Ober (Momoyo), Vicki Marquis (Ross), and Pat Ober (Leona). She was lovingly known as Grandma Aunty and Auntie Macaroni to her great-nieces and great-nephews: Jenny,Mandy and Kelsi Hicks, Jordan,Theresa, Noah and Eric Marquis, Kelli, Katie, and Broadie Obe and Alicia and Anthony Ober. Marlene, who was born and raised in Simms, Mont., passed peacefully after almost four years of battling ovarian cance, surrounded by her family at Peace Hospice on June 28, 2008.
