Nancy Ann (aka Ann/Nancy) Graves, dau/o Thomas Graves, Jr. and wife, Isabella Susannah Bartlett, was born 22 July 1756 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.

She married 07 May 1774 in either Spotsylvania Co., VA or Louisa Co., VA to (Capt) John Hancock, s/o Benjamin Hancock & Mary Beadles.

About 13 years later, John & Nancy and their young family left Louisa County, VA and moved westward into Kentucky with some of her Graves family. Here they sojourned for a time with their growing family. About 1805 (Capt.) John and Nancy removed with some of their adult and younger children to Butler Co., Ohio where they settled for a time at the hamlet of Oxford, but eventually removed to Reily Township, Butler Couny, Ohio. They were the parents of 11 known children.

Both John and Nancy (according to record) are said to have originally been buried in the Hancock Graveyard, but were later reburied in the Oxford Cemetery. For this reason they are given as being buried here. There is no stone to validate their resting place.Married John Hancock 1774 in Louisa Co.,Va or Spotsylvania Co.,Va.,daughter of Thomas and Isabella(Bartlett)Graves.
