Mr. Niswonger was a retired employee of Marquette Cement where he had worked fro 1924 to 1958.
He was an active member of Masonic circles and organizations. He was a member of St. Mark's Lodge 93 AF &AM of which he was past master and was grand lecturer of the 49th District. He was also in charge of installations for other lodges in the district.
Other Masonic organizations he was active in were Wilson Chapter 75 Royal Arch Mason, Cape Girardeau Commandery 35, Knights Templar, Cape Council 20 Royal and Select Masters, Capaha Scottish Rite Club, St. Louis Consistory, Knights of York Cross Honour, Order of High Priesthood, Order of Silver Trowel, Sword of Bunker Hill, and St. Mark's Chapter 167 Order of Eastern Star. He also was a member of the Maple Avenue Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Club.
