SALEM - Mildred L. Bevens, 84, died Wednesday. A long-time resident of Keizer and Salem, she was born and raised in Independence, Oregon. Her parents were Roy and Teresa Hartman.


She was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Hartman, and sister, Kathern Coffey. Her husband of 55 years was Floyd C. 'Bill' Bevens, who died in 1991.


Survivors include her sons, Larry of Salem, Dan of Vancouver, Wash., and Bob of Salem; one brother, Leroy 'Junior' Hartman of Port Orchard, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.


The family suggests that memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Humane Society of the Willamette Valley, 4246 Turner Road SE, Salem, Oregon 97301. Private funeral services and entombment will be at Restlawn Funeral Home and Mausoleum in Salem.
