Wife of Harold L. Cox
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jacqueline Harris Cox was known to her friends as Jackie. She passed away Wednesday after a two-week illness at the age of 94. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Harold Cox, and her parents J. W. and Bertha Harris, both of Virginia.

She is survived by her son, Charles C. Cox, and his wife Wanda and by her daughter, Kathy Osborne, and her husband Glenn. Jackie is also survived by two grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and their children and grandchildren. She especially cherished her grandchildren, Wrenn Cox and his wife Jessica and Hannah Osborne and her fiancé Ashton Albright as well as her step grandson Jon Manring and his two daughters, Grace and Emma.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, July 5 at 11 am at Groometown United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim Groome will be officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.

Jackie was very creative, crafty, and handy. She wrote poetry and ran an antique shop called Turn at the Churn. She made clothes for herself and her family, she could make slip covers and could reupholster furniture, she made dolls and dolls clothes, and had a stuffed animal business with her friend of 52 years, Barbara Tart Wood called Cuddly Critters and Crafts. She loved to share her craftiness with her church, Groometown United Methodist by helping with Vacation Bible School and making things to sell in the annual craft bazaar. She also helped with Brownie Scouts. She taught herself how to paint with watercolors and oils. Her paintings and other creations often earned her blue ribbons at the fair.

Jackie stayed home with her two children as a homemaker. When her youngest left home, she worked as a receptionist for Weight Watchers in Greensboro for ten years. She was one of the first residents at Providence Place in High Point and lived there for several years before moving to assisted living for a brief time and then coming home to Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville. Jackie was lovingly cared for there for five years. The family wishes to thank all the folks at Piedmont Crossing for their excellent care of "Miss" Jackie.

The family asks that instead of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to Sheets Pet Clinic's Feral Cat Fund: https://www.paypal.com/donate/. Jackie was a life-long lover of cats.
