Mrs. Edith D. Fonda, 89, formerly of the Fonda-Fultonville area, died Wednesday at the Montgomery County Infirmary where she had been a patient since Jan. 3, 1975. Born in Basingstoke, England, March 12, 1891, she was the daughter of Daniel and Ellen Wheeler Neville. She came to the United States in 1907 and waa married to Edgar Fonda, who died in 1969. She was a member of the Fonda-Fultonville United Methodist Church and its Christian Women's Society. She was employed for nine years in the glove industry. Survivors include two sons, Edgar Fonda, Fonda, RD 1 and Ernest Fonda, Fonda; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Stevens, Batavia, Mrs. Eleanor Patrick, Nottingham, Pa., and Miss Edith Fonda, Amsterdam, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Jackson-Todd Funeral Home. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Courier-Standard-Enterprise, Fort Plain, N.Y., October 21, 1980.
