She was born in Banning, CA on August 9, 1932 to Pedro and Maria Flores who resided for many years in Calexico, CA. Her parents both originally from Texas, relocated the family to the Imperial Valley in the 1930's.
She graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1951. Natalie loved sports and often played volleyball. She also loved to dance the jitterbug and could sing in both Spanish and English. Always having a flair for fashion, she attended and graduated from the Louise Salinger School of Dress Design in San Francisco, CA. Upon graduation she moved to Los Angeles to work in the Design circuit.
She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Flores of Solana Beach, CA; sister, Nora Purviance of Chandler, AZ; sister, Lupe Contreras of Merced, CA; brothers Pete and Bob Flores both of Stockton, CA and Poli Flores of El Centro, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria Flores and her brothers, Lee and Greg Flores.
A Celebration of Life memorial will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Club Mercedes in Merced, CA. at 569 W. 9th Street from noon to 4 p.m. Burial of her ashes to commence on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Calvary Cemetery, 1005 Highway 59 in Merced, CA at 10:00 a.m.
