George was a nephew of Thomas M. Crocker and worked in his Uncle's law office when he first arrived in Mt Clemens. He married Katherine Lee Dickinson, great granddaughter of Christian Clemens.
In 1880 census shown as Attorney-At-Law
Became second mayor of Mount Clemens in 1879 after the death of father in law: Joshwa Dickinson. Moved into Crocker House after death of father in law who built house.
Also was a Justice of the peace and a prosecuting attorney.
After death of Katherine in 1882, married Harriet Steele who died in 1886. Upon her death married her sister Cecelia who died in 1937. George fathered 11 children.
As mayor of Mount Clemens he made the dedication speech at the laying of the cornerstone for the third Macomb County Court House October 21, 1880. The previous structure had been built in 1840.
