Funeral services for Walter Eugene Strickland, 86, will be held on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at 3pm at Duck River Baptist Church; Rev. Layne Howard officiating. The body will lie in state from 2pm to 3pm with interment with military honors in Duck River Cemetery.

Mr. Strickland passed away on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W.H. Strickland and Ella M. Foust Strickland; his wife, Annie Pearl Strickland; three brothers, Albert, Henry and Tommy Strickland and two sisters, Juanita Harper and Jackie Love.
He is survived by three sons, Larry (Betty) Strickland, James (Wanda) Strickland and Rick (Susan) Strickland; three sisters, Katherine Vaughn, Lois Strickland and Dicie Childers; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
