Natalie Thiac Bell, age 81, of Foley, AL, formerly of Biloxi, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, in Foley.

She was a native of Biloxi and served as Queen Ixolib 1947. Mrs. Bell was a graduate of Univ. of Southern Mississippi - Gulf Park with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Home Economics. She taught school at Lopez Elementary from 1965 - 69 and later retired from the Navy SeaBee Base as the Family Services Director. After Hurricane Camille, she coordinated housing placement for military families of CBC, Gulfport. Mrs. Bell lived on Seal Ave. for 40 years before being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. She was of the Catholic faith and she loved God, her country, and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Audrey Holloway Thiac.

Survivors include her husband, CUCM Melvin Bell, USN, Ret., her children Lou Ann O'Bannon, Biloxi, and Frances Gily, Foley, AL, and 1 grandchild Robyn O'Bannon (Scott) Smith.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 -8 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL Home, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 N. Randolph Street, Suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203-1977
