Kimberly L. Cates, 42, died Oct. 4, 2009.

She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 6, 1967, a daughter of James and Lynnette (Hammond) Piasecki of Tucson, Ariz.

She graduated from the nursing program at Pima Community College, Tucson. While residing in Arizona, she worked at Tucson Medical Center.

She married David J. Cates in 1997 and a year later, their daughter, Jaimie Lynn was born. They later moved to Baltimore, Md., and in 2004, they came to New England, settling in Mont Vernon.

Mrs. Cates was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital, Nashua, Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, and the Milford Medical Center. While living in Maryland,she worked at St. Agnes Hospital.

She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and cherished time spent with her family. She enjoyed staying physically fit, time in the sun and supporting Jaimie in her extracurricular and school activities.

She never met a stranger, had a very outgoing personality and encouraged all of us with her smile. Her true calling was nursing, which allowed her compassionate, caring spirit to touch others.

IN HER LIFE: In addition to her parents, family members include her husband, David J. Cates and their daughter, Jaimie Lynn Cates, of Mont Vernon; two brothers, Jeff Piasecki, Scott Piasecki and his wife, Angela, and their children, Christopher and Nichole; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Isobel Cates; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pete and Linda Cates and their children, Kristina, Hope and Kyle, Linda Cates Boogaart and Michael Boogaart and their children, Zachary and Carson, Anne Cates Campbell and Rev. Scott Campbell and their children, Andrew and Angela, Jonathan and Diane Cates and their son, Jonathan, Kirk and Patty Cates and their son, Ian; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was a victim of murder.



She had her wake at the Smith-Heald Funeral Home in Milford, NH. She had her funeral service at the First Congregational Church in Mont Vernon, NH. And she is buried at Green Lawn Cemetery off of Main Street in Mont Vernon, NH.
