Lauren F. Allen, 72, of Route 34B died Friday at his home after a long illness.

Born in Dundee, he lived in Southern Cayuga County 45 years. He owned and operated Allen Feed Service for seven years. He also was a sales representative with the Allied Mills Co., owned and operated a poultry business for 25 years and worked for New York State Electric and Gas Co.

Mr. Allen was a member and former president of the Aurora Club. He was a World War II veteran and a communicant of St. Patrick's Church of Aurora. He also received a Paul Harris Fellowship from the Rotary Club for outstanding service to the community and the club.

Surviving are his wife, Dolores Y.; three sons, John L. of Auburn, P. Douglas of Macedon and Robert E. of Mission Viejo, Calif.; two daughters, Karen L. Allen of Sherman and Kathleen Y. Mahaney of King Ferry; two brothers, Donald E. and J. Robert, both of Dundee; a sister, Erma Peck of Painted Post; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 9:30 a.m. Monday at Shakleton Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, the Rev. Paul J. Ryan officiating. Burial is in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, King Ferry.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, Main Street, Aurora.
