ELECTRIC CITY, Wash. - Funeral services were to be today for Jeff Mason Hopkins, 81, followed by burial at the Omak Memorial Cemetery. He died Wednesday at a Spokane hospital.
He was born May 25, 1893, at Royce City, Tex. On May 25, 1912, he married Ruth Smith there. They farmed in Texas and Oklahoma until 1929, when he began working in construction. He moved to the Grand Coulee Dam area in 1942, and worked on Grand Coulee Dam, Priest Rapids Dam, Chief Joseph Dam, and for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation as an operating engineer. Survivors include his wife, at the home; four sons, Howard and Melvin, Lincoln, Wash., Clyde in California and C, B. Hopkins, in Omak; four daughter s, Audrey Addis, Oklahoma, Billy McCraken, Omak, Leila Haydock, Electric City, Margaret Walker, California; one sister, Georgia Sanford, Albania; 15 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren.
