Sarah has two markers
Mrs. C. A. Fuller died at her home on H street this morning at 5:30 o'clock after an illness of over three weeks. Although she had been very low, signs of improvement had been noticed until last night when she was taken with severe pleurisy pains and could not withstand the additional demands on an already weakened constitution.
Sarah Cawkins [sic] was born at Palmer, Mass., November 6, 1843, and in 1861 went with her parents to Lockport, Illinois, where in 1863 she was married to Charles A. Fuller. In 1866, with her husband, she moved to a farm near Amboy, Ill., where she lived until coming to Salida in 1886. In 1892 she returned with her husband to Amboy, but again returned to Salida in 1902, established a home and has remained here ever since.
Mrs. Fuller was the mother of Albert E. Fuller, who was for a long time a resident of Salida and was cashier in the old Chaffee County Bank. He died six years ago at Grayville, Ill. Her husband and one, Child, Mrs. O. R. Meacham, and a brother, Wm. Cawkins, who lives in Nebraska, are left to mourn her demise.
Mrs. Fuller was a devout Christian, a member of the Baptist church of Salida, a loving mother and dutiful wife. She possessed all the good qualities of true womanhood and it can be truly said the world is better for her having lived in it.
