Obituary: Cumberland Evening Times, Satufday, June 22, 1940, Vol. LXXIII, No. 173, Page 2. William J. Britten, 60, of 117 Bland Avenue, died this morning at Allegany Hospital, where he had been a patient several days. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Louise (Gotisey) Britten; three daughters, Mrs. Urner Buser and Miss Irene Britten, this city and rs. Clyde Rice, Ridgeley; a son, William E. Britten, this city; two brothers, John, of Cumberland, Edward Britten, Wheeling, and two grandchildren. The body will remain at the Wolford Funeral Home. He had been employed for 23 years at the Taylor Tin Mills.
