Lois Murray, 96, of Harviell, died September 29, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Murray was a homemaker and was born June 14, 1910 in Butler County to the late Harvey J. and Felsa L. (Nixon) Randles. She was a charter member of the Harviell Pentecostal Church for 66 years. She established the first Public Library in Harviell, was a member of the Poplar Bluff Garden Club, and R.S.V.P. Mrs. Murray was known as the "Dahlia Lady" of Harviell and won numerous blue ribbons and trophies at the Butler County Fair. Visitors came from all over the area and different states as well as other countries to view the garden of Mrs. Murray.

On January 3, 1930 she married Lawrence E. Murray in Harviell and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1984.

Surviving are three children, Loran Leon Murray and wife Wanda of Poplar Bluff; Doris Darlene Hastings and husband Junior of DeSoto; and Gloria June Murray and husband Leroy of Harviell; eight grandchildren, Jim Bausworth and wife Paula; Karen Steele and husband Fred; Sherri Hastings; Rhonda Morris and husband Jack; Brian Hastings and wife Lisa; Dolores Murray; Van Murray and wife Linda; Ross Murray and wife Debie; six great grandchildren and 3 great great granddaughters.

Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Harviell Pentecostal Church with the Rev. N. A. Haynes and Rev. Bob Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery.
