Rachel Mars Hoddinott - Hamilton - Van Dyck

Rachel was born at 5 High Street, Johnstone, Renfrew county, Scotland.
She married her 1st husband, Benjamin Hoddinott, in 1905. Benjamin was born in Somereset, England in 1863 and died in Worcester in 1919. Their only son James Henry was born and died in 1907. Their only daughter Emma Margaret was born in 1909 and died in 1912.

Rachel married for the 2nd time in 1924 to "Bobby" Robert Hamilton, a stonemason who died in 1932.

She married her third husband John Van Dyke in the home of her brother James T. Mars in Worcester in 1934. John was a gardener for Dr. Deering - Rachel cleaned for Dr. Deering.
Rachel was buried with her 2nd husband, Bobby Hamilton, in Hope Cemetery. Her brother, Robert Thompson took care of funeral arrangements for Rachel Mars.

Rachel's nephew Harold Edward White said of his aunt - she was a happy person, devoted to the Salvation Army and never was negative although she buried her two children and her three husbands before dying in 1959.
