She was the third daughter of Henry and Matilda Ridgely. She was married to Horatio Ireland Hollingsworth, the son of Judge Zebulon Hollingsworth of Baltimore. Her remains were removed from a private cemetery on Woodley, owned by the Ridgely family on November 22, 1869.

She and her husband were the parents of nine children:

Matilda Elizabeth Hollingsworth (1819-1862) who married John Henry Carroll. A portrait of her is owned by Douglas Gordon Carroll of Brooklandville, Maryland.

John McHenry Hollingsworth who later changed his first name to James (1823-1889)

Hester Frances "Fannie" Hollingsworth (1837-1866) who married Sinclair Barbarin and erected the stone in memory of her mother.
