Lewis Knotts, a well known and highly respected citizen, died at his home in Perry township, Thursday, April 28, aged 70 years, of a complication of diseases. Mr. Knotts was a member of the Claughton Chapel M. E. church, and always took an active interest in the affairs of the community. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Johnson and to this union thirteen children were born eleven of whom survive as follows: Mrs. Samuel V. (Clemmie) Guthrie, Ira (Hattie) Knotts and William J. (Elsie) Knotts, of Morgantown, W. Va.; Mrs. Leonard D. (Dora) Renner and Mrs. Ansel (Nancy) Lemley, of Kirby; Lambert (Ella) and Frank Knotts, of Mt. Morris; Mrs. Austin (Annie) Moore, of Jewett, O.; and Lawrence Knotts, at home. One sister, Mrs. Rose McClure, of Davistown, also survives.
