James was the son of Robert Gibson and Celia Ann Smith, husband of Eula Faye Gibson.
Sikeston - Services will be conducted Sunday at the Jackson Funeral Home in Sikeston for Rev. James H. Gibson, who suffered a heart attack Thursday and died en route to a hospital here. He was 67 years old. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery here.
Rev. Gibson was born Dec. 30, 1900. He was ordained into the ministry of the Baptist Church in 1932 and has served as pastor of the Temple Baptist Church, Belgrade, the Independent Baptist Church, Neelyville and the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Caledonia.
For the past 15 years, Rev. Gibson was pastor of the Kewanee Baptist Church at Kewanee. He had only recently retired.
He is survived by his wife, Eula Faye; four sons, Edgar F. Gibson, Chief Petty Officer Cletus H. Gibson, Henry L. Gibson and Lt. Charles D. Gibson; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Belle Risheson and Mrs. Wm. J. Asher; three brothers, Joseph B. Gibson and John W. Gibson; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Compton, 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
