She was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Ann Edes. Her brother, Richard Andrew Edes and sisters, Agnes Maria Edes and Mary Jane Edes Pairo are also buried in this lot. Her brother, Samuel C. Edes, died in January 1865. She was the mother of Walter Long born about 1842 in Maryland, who became a civil engineer and Benjamin Edes Long born April 1, 1847. Her brother, Samuel Edes, requested that her youngest son, Benjamin Edes Long change his name to Benjamin Long Edes to keep alive the name of the revolutionary patriot, Benjamin Edes of the Boston Gazette. She is found on the censuses in Baltimore, Maryland with her mother and also in the District of Columbia in the household of her sister, Mary Pairo.
