Tommy Tucker Cornelius, age 93, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2005, at the Seymour Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chad Lehrmann, youth minister of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cornelius was born July 28, 1911 in the Ogden Community of Baylor County, to Benjamin Franklin and Ruth Moran Tucker. She worked for the American Red Cross after World Was II during the occupation of the Philippines and Japan, helping to get the American prisoners ready to come home.
In later years, she was the office manager of May Petroleum, retiring in October of 1979. She married George D. "Bill" Cornelius on April 25, 1970 in Madill, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2004.
She is survived by one brother, B.F. Tucker, Jr. of Seymour, Texas; by her nieces: Peggy Holbert of Canton, Texas; Ruth Bryan of Seymour, Texas; Glenna Ayres of Elmore City, Oklahoma; Margie Sampley of Royce City, Texas; Jerry Ellison of Caddo Mills, Texas; Gennie Stegall of Grapevine, Texas; Donna Spikes of Seymour, Texas; and Daphna Simpson of Mansfield, Texas; and by her nephews: Jerry Tucker of Wichita Falls, Texas; Bob Norton of Ft. Worth, Texas; Richard Norton of Arlington, Texas; G. W. Holt of Holliday, Texas; Jim Frank Holt of Woodville, Texas; Billy Mack Holt of Cleburne, Texas; Larry Holt of Terrell, Texas; and Charles Ray Tucker of Byers, Colorado.
