Son of Peter Trosper and Telitha Catherine Cain.

George Matthew Trosper was born in Kentucky, April 30, 1845, and from there he went to Kansas. He was the youngest of four brothers. His first wife was Ellen Elizebith Longer and they had two girls and five boys. 1) Basil married Ara Shearer and their children are: Kenneth, George, Wilson, Louise, Bessie, Pauline, Basil, Jr., Cecil, and E. J. 2) Eva married John Gardner and the two sons of theirs are John and Friday. 3) Laura married and had one son, Amasa lsaac. 4) Eli had one step-daughter, Beth. 5) Amasa, 6) Arthur, and 7) Earl. Amasa, Arthur and Earl had no children.
George Matthew Trosper married Carrie Pierce in Kansas and she had a daughter, Maggie, by a former marriage.
At one time, George Matthew Trosper operated a saloon in Kiel, Oklahoma, that he closed when liquor was voted out by the 19th Amendment.
George and Carrie had five children. 1) Grace was born in Kansas and 2) Hugh, 3) Elsie, 4) Etta and 5) Ruth, who died in infancy, were born in Oklahoma. Grace married Ralph Kinder of Nash, Oklahoma, and they had two children, Edna Louise and Orville, and they all moved to Los Angeles, California. Hugh married Rella Weimer, who had a son by a former marriage, Charles Safie Burns, Jr., and they had two children, Corwin and Laura Marie. Etta married Omer Weir of El Reno, and they had five children, Clyde, John, Violet, Rupert, and Benecia. Elsie married Harold Curtis, of Dover, Oklahoma, and they had no children.
Politically, George M. Trosper was a Republican and he fought in the Civil War with the North. He received a government pension and after Carrie's death, he retired from farming and moved to the Union Soldier's Home in Oklahoma City, where he met and married Mary Kellock. He died in 1931 and he and Carrie Trosper are buried in New Home Cemetery near Loyal, Oklahoma.
