Angeline Persons was born August 12th, 1825, at Ticonderoga, NY being one of a family of four children. At an early age she, with other member of the family, emigrated to Wisconsin. Here she married February 15th, 1858 to Henry Williams. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Iowa, settling on a farm in Jones County. Mr. Williams died July 8, 1889. After his death, Mrs. Williams purchased a home in Oxford Junction, which she resided until the time of her death. She passed away Friday morning, February 18th, 1898 at the age of 73 years.
The funeral services were held at the M.E. church on Sunday at 11 a.m. conducted by E.A. Hoelscher, appropriate music was furnished by a choir consisting of Messers E.A. Grimwood and Chas. H. Baird and the Allsars Everbarts. Though a fierce snowstorm was raging a large congregation assembled to show their respects to the deceased. The body was interned in the Oxford Cemetery by the side of that of her husband.
Mrs. Williams was a woman of many admirable qualities, a professed Christian and member of the M.E. church. She leaves one brother, several nephews, nieces and many friends who mourn her departure.
