Fayett Marion "Fay" Roach was the fourth of thirteen children and the second son born to George Wesley and Elizabeth Isabel (Hoot) Roach.

He lived most of his life in Toledo or the Toledo area of Ohio. He married Marie Jaisler there on the 31st of August, 1944. They would later move to 300 Siler Street in Fremont, Ohio where he would live until he lost his life on November 12, 1956, two years after the death of his wife.

Fay had no children.

His niece, Marian Irene Harris, was born on his birthday and was named after him.
