Jeffery Lee Sims, 46, of Chattanooga, Tenn. died on Monday, October 5, 2009 at his residence.
Jeff was of the Baptist faith. He was a Tyner High School graduate, class of 1981. He will always be remembered for his loving kindness, laughter and the joy that he brought to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Lee Sims Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Ada Francis and Charlie Sam Porter and his paternal grandparents, Jonas and Carrie Sims.
He is survived by his mother, Fannie Porter Tramble; father, Willie (Shirley) Sims; special friend, Lisa Webb; son, Jeffery Lamar (Jermeisha) Sims; daughter, Shree Parrish; brothers, Noble (Azelia) Sims and Offord "Rudy" (Natalie) Sims; stepbrothers, Rodney and Randolf Gaines; stepsister, Veronica (Fred) Jackson; seven grandchildren, Jamarion, Jacquez, Jontae, Jakylah, Jakasia, Ashauna and Masiyah; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and two close friends, Byron McKinley and Clint Moore.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, with Rev. Willie Paul officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, October 9, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 7–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
