Services for Mr. Robert Whitfield McCoy, age 83, of Lindale are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the Red Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Breithaupt 0fficiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Flat Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale. Mr. McCoy died Saturday morning at his residence. He was born May 8, 1920 in Rattan, Oklahoma to Robert Henry and Minnie Allen McCoy and lived the majority of his life in the Lindale area. Mr. McCoy was retired from the Smith County Road Department and was preceded in death by his first Wife, Dessie McCoy in 1993 and a Son, Vernon McCoy in 1973.
He is survived by his Wife, Mrs. Myrtle McCoy of Lindale; 7 Sons, Bobby McCoy of Trinity, Le Roy McCoy of Tyler, Carl Wayne McCoy of Tyler, Harold McCoy of Red Springs, Larry McCoy of Red Springs, Jerry McCoy of Lake Palestine, & Gerry McCoy of Tyler; 2 Daughters, Wanda Godwin of Whitehouse & Terry Sigler of Whitehouse; 2 Sisters, Josie Green of Dumas & Willie Bridges of Graham; Foster Son, Alfred Yarbrough of Diana; 25 Grandchildren and 41 Great Grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray McCoy, Shane McCoy, James Godwin, Gene Godwin, Roy McCoy, Adam Gardner, & Dwayne Pemberton. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven McCoy, Michael McCoy, & Sunshine Godwin.
