Gladys I. Frix Lynch, 87, of Memphis passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 11 at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 3981 Macon Road with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, October 10 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue. Gladys was born December 4, 1921 at Henderson, TN and married Ernest L. Lynch of Montezuma, TN in July 1940. She was a long service employee of Sears from which she retired in 1983. Gladys and Ernest were charter members of St. Stephen United Methodist Church where Gladys was actively engaged in teaching bible studies and other church activities. Gladys was a resident of the Kirby Pines Retirement Community. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ernest L. Lynch. She leaves her daughter, Patsy L. Cayce of Memphis; her son, Charles A. Lynch of Paris Texas; one brother, James Frix of Henderson, TN; two sisters, Bethel White of Memphis, and Junell King of Peoria, Illinois; two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
