"Ernest was born in Saunders Co, Nebraska and died in Fremont. The big question is when was he born. His marker is the only one that says Oct 24 most other sources say Oct 25. His Fremont Tribune obit and SSDI say Oct 25, 1887 and his WWI draft registration has Oct 25, 1888. The census indicate that the later years are more likely. Managers Note: The 1910, 1920 and 1940 census's have him listed as ages 22, 32 and 52 respectively. Assuming the census for each of those years was done before his birth month of October, it would also be my guess that he was born in 1887.
Furthermore, I would also tend to believe the independently rendered and precise birth dates given by both the SSDI and Trib with the year of 1887 being further supported by the 3 census reports.
