A memorial Mass will be held for Ryan Andrew Thomas, 29, of North Bend, at 1 p.m., Saturday Oct. 10, at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 18211 S. Henrici Road in Oregon City. Inurnment will be at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Portland. Cremation rites have been held under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary.
Ryan was born July 20, 1980, in San Diego, Calif., the son of David M. Thomas and Patricia Ann (Fiander) Thomas. He died Oct. 5, 2009, in North Bend.
He was raised and educated in Encinitas, Calif., Charleston and West Linn. Ryan was married to Jessica Marie Tankersley on June 25, 2005, in Oregon City. They made their home in North Bend, where Ryan worked as an administrator at The Academy boarding school in Bridge, until it closed in January and then at Scotts Valley Academy near Yoncalla.
He enjoyed collecting and shooting firearms, customizing his cars and spending time with his friends and family. He really loved his dogs, Vinny, Penny, Pixxy and Emily.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Jessica Thomas of North Bend; father, David and Keshni Thomas of Sutherlin; mother, Patricia Thomas of Australia; parents-in-law, Jeffrey and Janet Tankersley of Oregon City; sister, Alison Thomas Renberg of Meridian, Idaho; brother-in-law, Jason Tankersley of Oregon City; and several nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, 267-4216.
