Mrs. C.L. Axtell Dies in Caldwell
Mrs. Lillian Smith Axtell, 87, widow of the late Charles L. Axtell died Sunday afternoon at 4:30 in her home on First street, Caldwell, after a short illness, although she had been an invalid for several years.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, she was the last of a large family and spent most of her life in the Caldwell vicinity. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ora Nowell of Barberton: two grandchildren, Charles McCormick of Chicago and Mrs. Russell Stumpp of Barberton, and two great-grandchildren, Charles McCormick, Jr., and Larry Stumpp.
Mrs. Axtell was a member of the Caldwell First Methodist
church and the Home Department Bible class of the church.
The body was taken to the B.B. Wheeler funeral home in Caldwell.
